Mitsubishi’s best-selling model, the Xpander, just got its latest iteration last May.

The new Xpander features a sporty, head-turner exterior styling accentuated by Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front face that exudes power. It is equipped with new T-shaped headlamps, LED combination tail lamp, electric folding side mirrors, and two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Xpander’s interior features an ergonomic design with premium materials. The second row comes with a foldable large center armrest, giving the occupants captain-like seats. The armrest now comes with cup holders, but if it is raised, the second row can accommodate three occupants.

There are also numerous storage spaces inside the cabin, making the Xpander perfect for daily drives. There are side door bottle holders, seat pockets, storage for wet items, and front seat under tray. The center armrest also comes with a tissue holder.

The Xpander is also equipped with a Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Xpander is powered by a 1.5-liter MIVEC engine that produces 103 hp and 141 Nm of torque. The engine delivers a powerful performance with less fuel consumption.

The engine is mated to a dependable four-speed automatic transmission that distributes power to the wheels while maximizing fuel economy.

The Xpander is the only model in its class with cruise control, a feature that makes it easier to maintain speed even when the driver releases their foot from the accelerator. This, together with the electronic parking brake, helps reduce driver fatigue.

To ensure stability on slippery surfaces, the Xpander comes with active stability control (ASC), which automatically adjusts engine output and applies braking force at the wheels if they lose their grip.

Another advanced safety feature is the emergency stop signal (ESS) system that automatically flashes the hazard lights if the driver brakes hard to warn vehicles behind. This helps reduce the risk of rear-end collisions.

The Xpander features Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body. Crumple zones, which are energy-absorbing portions built into this engineering design, absorb energy in the event of collisions. This also provides added protection to the occupants. Damage is reduced since force is safely directed away from the cabin and distributed throughout the RISE body instead.

The Xpander comes in five color options: Blade Silver Metallic, Graphite Gray, Quartz White Pearl, Red Metallic, and Jet Black Mica.

Pricing for the Mitsubishi Xpander ranges from P1.05 million to P1.18 million.
